Press release from the Suffolk County Legislature:
April 23, 2021
Legislator Steven J. Flotteron joined Save The Great South Bay Organization along with scouts, students, teachers, families and local organizations for a massive clean-up of Sampawams Creek in West Islip (one of 50 Creeks leading into the Bay) in an effort to keep our South Shore's Great South Bay healthy.
Save The Great South Bay is a local 501(c) 3 non-profit that actively works to restore the bay, and therefore strengthen our South Shore communities. For more information, visit savethegreatsouthbay.org website.
"These volunteer group clean-ups will increase habitat for wildlife, enhancing this public space and restore the creek for all to enjoy for years to come," said Legislator Flotteron.
