We are the MD Jazz Band, a private jazz/pop/rock band going strong since in 2008. We play tunes from the great jazz orchestras, vintage pop, jazz standards, and 70's horn band and soul band rock tunes from Chicago, Blood Sweat and Tears, Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding, The Beatles, etc. We use 3 saxes, 4-5 brass + rhythm + vocals. We are working on shows for upcoming paying gigs. We are not a community band. We also back up other featured performers in concerts. We use 2 trombones. The tunes we play are very close transcriptions of the original recordings. Although not a tribute band, our performances sound very close the original recordings so in addition to the actual musical chart you are provided you can learn with you-tube videos. This is a rare opportunity to learn while participating in a very special group. And importantly, since we use professional musicians in most cases you can play your other gigs as well. This is a serious band that works hard preparing for performances. We practice most every MONDAY night in Mount Dora at the Donnelly Park Building on Donnelly St. Text or email right away.
