Mountain Vista Communities, the Fort Huachuca housing management company, is looking to hire a Maintenance Technician. The Maintenance Technician assists the Maintenance Supervisor in renovation of vacant homes. This involves ensuring a safe, secure, and comfortable living environment for future residents. The Maintenance Technician will carry out assigned duties in a safe manner, and in addition to the duties described herein, will perform other duties as requested by the Facility Director and Community Director. This is a temporary full-time position on Fort Huachuca, Monday-Friday from 7:30am to 4pm, with occasional over-time requirements. The position will be needed for no less than 36 months. The RIA Maintenance Technician will: • Work directly with team members, supervisors and vendors in renovating and remodeling vacant homes. • Perform carpentry work such as wall removal, all aspects of drywall replacement, some tile installation, as well as exterior and interior painting. • Perform electrical repairs and alterations to include replacing fixtures, switches, outlets, circuits, etc. • Perform plumbing work to include installing fixtures, toilets, and tub surrounds. Required Qualifications: • At least 1-year maintenance and/or development/renovation experience • Must be knowledgeable of pertinent laws and applicable regulations including, but not limited to EPA and OSHA regulations governing proper storage and management of hazardous materials, including solvents, flammables, caustics and refrigerant • Strong time management skills • Capacity to operate independently and resourcefully, taking initiative and exercising own judgment for majority of work • Experience in drywall, painting, basic electrical & plumbing • Able to lift 50 pounds • Able to climb ladders and reach overhead • Candidate is action and results orientated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment Mountain Vista Communities is an EOE
