NOW HIRING - COME JOIN OUR TEAM!!! *Position Overview Georgetown Metal Recycling is currently seeking a team player to support GMR in Georgetown, TX. As part of the team, duties may include assisting with daily production operations, equipment operator conducts the process of separating various scrap materials by hand and using heavy machinery. With an uncontrolled climate, this position's working conditions include exposure to heat and cold. This is an hourly position with a work schedule of Monday-Friday 8:00AM - 5:30PM, and Saturday 8:00AM- 4:30PM (each employee is assigned 1/2 day off weekly). Overtime can be expected to accommodate business needs. GMR's competitive compensation package includes: Fulltime employees have the opportunity to participate in a company sponsored retirement plan following 1 year of service; GMR observes 6 paid holidays per year; After 1 year of service employees are eligible for 8 PTO Days to be paid at your base pay rate; *Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Adhere to all GMR Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. Provide a safe environment for all employees, customers and visitors. Conduct equipment inspections; perform preventive maintenance checks; keep equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; reporting to supervisor repair needs; Inspect customer scrap metal received to ensure material meets specifications and is free from environmental hazard in accordance with scrap acceptance policy. Correctly identify and record inspection data such as weight, grade, content, and quantity of scrap metal. Ability to identify different ferrous and nonferrous metals, grades and. perform upgrade processing. Safely load and unload scrap onto trucks. Sort scrap and transfer to correct material stack. Provide housekeeping on yard by consolidating piles of scrap. Provide backup or assistance throughout the yard as needed. Perform other duties as may be assigned. *Experience and Skill Requirements: Must meet GMR attendance standards. Ability to interact with co-workers and customers in a positive manner, follow directions and work rules and accept constructive feedback required. Must be able to bend, stoop, push, pull, lift, kneel, squat, crawl and reach. Effective communication skills. *Education Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
