Underground Locator

Jobs

Portland OR

Description

Small local business looking for underground locator. There is a lot of training involved, but after that you would be out on your own much of the time. You would be interacting with a lot of customers, driving a lot, sometimes going into crawlspaces and other spiderweb filled tight spaces; the job involves walking through brush and thickets, working outside in rain and sunshine (aside from the 50+ miles a day in the vehicle), and figuring out problems with a lack of information. Preferred Experience: can Drive a Stick Shift/ Manual Gear Vehicle, Working for Call Before You Dig/811, decommissioning or locating heating oil tanks & USTs, locating buried utilities, sewer scopes, etc. Good science or physics understanding, which will help you understand the tools which will make your job easier. Typical days are 7AM to 5PMish. We would like to find someone for 3 to 5 days a week. Clean driving record a must. If you have some of the preferred experience and the job sounds like something you might like then the next step might be a 'working interview' where you follow and watch us on a job or two to see if it's something you would want to do. Send us an email with your resume and tell us roughly why you have some of the preferred experience. Thanks!
