Field Service Technician Job Summary The primary focus of this position is to ensure pumps are in optimal operating condition, this will include driving to the customer’s location to perform various repairs and installs. This role will also perform advanced repairs on returned pumps. This position is a Non-Exempt position and in accordance with the Fair Labor and Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid at 1.5x the base rate for any hours worked over 40 hours in a workweek. Responsibility & Duties • Installs and ensures the efficient and safe operations of all pump equipment, new or replacement parts. • Inspect and repair pumps to ensure efficient operation and proper functioning equipment. • Confined space entry to complete lift station inspections and rebuilds. • Disassembles broken or defective pump equipment to facilitate the repair and reassemble when repairs are complete. • Perform routine maintenance of all pump equipment. • Keeps accurate and timely records of equipment movement, installation progress, service schedules, customer interactions, and other paperwork as required for proper documentation of work performed. • Clean and test all repaired equipment to ensure operations and appearance is up to company standards. • Other duties as assigned. Regular attendance is required to fulfill the essential functions of the job. Skills & Abilities • Must have advanced math skills. • Must be able to have professional and comprehensive communication with customers, team members and other contractors or workers on the job sites. • Must be able to represent the company in a professional and competent manner. • Must be able to work with good collaboration with customer needs. • Must have emotional and technical discipline. • Must have good decision-making aptitude. • Must have mechanical aptitude. • Must be flexible to adhere to project needs. • Must have worked on pneumatic systems, electrical systems, and pumps. • Must have analytic abilities. • Must manage all onsite installations, repairs, maintenance, and test tasks. • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions. • Must be able to read diagrams and blueprints. • Must be able to identify job site hazards. • Must be able to multitask. • Must have strong problem-solving skills. • Must be detail-oriented. • Must have good time management skills. • Ability to perform work safely using proper power/hand tools. • The ability to operate a welder with light fabrication requirements. • Must have good oral and written communication skills. • Must adhere to safety rules and wear proper personal protection equipment (PPE) • Ability to work in varied outdoor environments. • Ability to receive and carry out instructions. • Ability to do the occasional heavy lifting. • Ability to work overtime when necessary. • Must be a team player. • Must be able to read and write English. Experience & Education • High School Diploma or GED preferred • Trade school training a plus • Certified Welder preferred • 2 years recent experience with diesel and/or electric pump repairs and similar equipment, required. • Forklift certification required within 90 days of hire. • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required CDL a plus. • Recent experience with customer service preferred. • Experience in rental/pump industry preferred. • Forklift certification required within 90 days of hire. • Valid driver’s license with clean driving required; CDL a plus. • Recent experience with customer service preferred. • Experience in rental/pump industry preferred.
