The crux of the problem in America today is a general lack of respect. We disrespect people who do not agree with our political views. We disrespect people who do not agree with our social views. We disrespect people who do not agree with our religious views. We disrespect people who are a different race from us. I was raised to respect all people. Just because people hold different views than I, is no reason to not respect them. Disrespecting other people represents a lack of personal self confidence. Not respecting ALL other people is caused by contempt for ourselves. Lack of respect shows a weakness within a person. We don’t need to agree in order to respect each other. To disrespect others it to show a lack of respect for yourself.
