Nyes Neck Association is seeking a lifeguard for Nyes Neck Association beach. Must have current Lifeguard certification, or ability to obtain before start date. The position is seasonal, approximately June 28th to August 20th. Hours are 9:00 am and 4:00 pm Monday through Friday and noon to 4:30 pm on Saturday and Sunday. The days and hours may be shared between 2 lifeguards. Compensation: $16.00 an hour. Primary Duties - Maintains watchfulness over the beach to prevent dangerous situations (Guarding from chair, walking the beach, etc.). Monitors and assists swimmers. - Performs rescue if appropriate, calls for help, provides emergency care, interviews witnesses, and files reports. - Maintain cleanliness of beach area, including daily raking of seaweed each morning and pick up any trash located in parking lot or on beach. Requirements - Must be at least 16 years of age. - American Red Cross or Equivalent Lifeguarding (deep water skills). - Basic Life Support CPR and AED training. ARC or AHA preferred.
