Forming Jazz Band to perform in Brooklyn Parks

Description

ISO – drummer; bass player; guitar; keyboards; I've been enjoying some of the great jazz I've been hearing in our NYC parks and I want to participate too! I’m fully vacc’ed and I play sax and I’m starting a Brooklyn-based jazz combo to play out in the local parks…mostly performing my originals with a smattering of non-Real Book covers. It’ll be rooted in soul jazz but versatile – the occasional ethiopiques song, a ska song or surf song to mix up the rhythms. You can hear some of my tunes with my other band, Combat Jazz, on Spotify, Apple music or Bandcamp. I’m looking for talented musicians that are available to rehearse on a weeknight and to play on weekends. To put on a good show, I propose we’d rehearse one night a week until a whole set is ready and then maybe once month thereafter to tweak arrangements and add new songs. We would rehearse at Complete Music in Prospect Heights or Rivington Studios in the L.E.S. I’ll pay for the rehearsal space and we’ll split any money we might make. We would probably play in Fort Greene Park or Prospect Park. Please contact me if you are interested and available. Please do not reply if you can’t get your instrument to these parks or if you don’t have an outdoor rig.
