With the continual deaths of unarmed black boys and girls by the police, come and hear about the inspiration behind the book Dear Black Boy. Dear Black Boy is primarily a book for parents, caregivers, and trusted adults to begin a conversation surrounding race in America with their children. Although this book was not specifically written for children, it is my hope the content in this book will create conversation between parents and their children as well as community leaders and the communities they serve in an effort to promote healing that has been caused by generations of racial trauma. Come out and meet the author and the illustrators of Dear Black Boy in a one-on-one discussion about the book which will include a question and answer session. Books and merchandise will be available for sale. The book signing will immediately follow the event. Lunch will be provided for attendees for your convenience. We hope to see you there!
