Hi, I’m a dog groomer of two years looking to gain experience in both hand stripping and carding services. I have the tools and the knowledge on the how but now I need to have the opportunity to work on the coat type. So I’m looking to take on a client and offer discounted hand stripping services in exchange for your patience while I learn what works best and what techniques get the best results. Most terriers will have the coat type for hand stripping but if they’ve been shaved their whole lives the quality may have changed to the point where it can no longer be hand stripped comfortably so I’ll need to see a photo of your dogs hair to make sure it can be. Some breeds that are hand stripped would be schnauzers, border terriers, welsh terriers, fox terriers, west highland terriers, wire hair dachshund and Brussels griffon to name a few.
