Women in the Environment - Brown Bag Lunch followed by Wetland Overview & Board Walk Tour Bring your family and friends and join us on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 11:30 am for a Women in the Environment Brown Bag Lunch! We will have a classroom style wetland overview beginning at 1:00 pm followed by an educational walking tour of the boardwalk. Don't forget to wear a hat, pack your sun screen and insect repellent, and bring a water bottle as we take a walk on the wild side! Please note: Admission to the John Bunker Sands Wetland Center is free for children 12 and under; however, there is a fee for the Wetland Overview and Boardwalk Tour . If they wish to attend this portion of the event please purchase a child ticket through our link below. FYI - Your ticket gives you all day access to the JBSWC, which opens at 7:30 am. There are walking trails throughout the facility, so feel free to come early and enjoy all the wetland center has to offer. *Please bring your own lunch and beverages as no food or beverages are sold at the Wetland Center. Located in the middle of the 2000 acre East Fork Wetland Project, the John Bunker Sands Wetland Center provides education and research opportunities pertaining to water conservation, wetland systems, and wildlife management. The Center serves as the hub of environmental and social interest of man-made wetland habitats on the Rosewood Seagoville Ranch property. This includes the North Texas Municipal Water District's 2,000 acre East Fork Wetland Project, and an additional 1,200 acres of bottomland hardwood forest restoration as part of the Bunker Sands Mitigation Bank.
