NEW YORK CITY — Mass vaccination sites at Javits Center, Yankee Stadium and elsewhere across New York City soon will offer COVID-19 vaccine without appointments to New Yorkers 60 and up.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo said those walk-in shots will be offered at 16 state-run mass vaccination sites starting Friday.
"For people over 60 years old — I'm one of them — really no excuses," he said. "Just show up."

Mayor Bill de Blasio recently said certain city-run sites will offer walk-in shots to New Yorkers 50 and up.
"Currently, it's for folks 50 years old and older, at 30-plus city vaccination sites," he said Wednesday. "We're looking to expand that effort. And we'll have more to say on that soon."
