Description

Press release from the Massapequa Chamber of Commerce: Apr 21, 2021 7th Precinct Gym – Eagle Scout Project – Donations Appreciated The Massapequa Chamber of Commerce is proud to support this Eagle Scout project, where Boy Scout Michael Leighton will help to build a gym for the officers and employees of our local 7th Precinct Police Department. The Nassau County Police Academy in Massapequa Park is closing, and this closure will leave the 7th Precinct officers without a space to exercise and work out. Historically, police officers fund their own gyms and workout areas, so the 7th Precinct will be building a gym from the ground-up inside their station house basement. Boy Scout Michael Leighton will assist with the building of the gym, and his project will including spackling, painting, buying and installing flooring, and purchasing a music system. Donations would be very much appreciated to assist with the success of this project. Please Consider Donating to this Project Cash or check (payable to Troop 239) donations can be dropped off at the 7th Precinct to Raymond Luthy, or you can e-mail Michael directly at [email protected] to arrange pick-up. The Massapequa Chamber of Commerce is very grateful to Michael for supporting our local police officers. Thank you to all who are able to donate to this worthwhile project. Special thanks to Steve Parmiter for forwarding this great information!
