MALDEN, MA – Ferryway School Principal Abdel Sepulveda has announced he will resign immediately from his role. Sepulveda served as principal at the school since July 2017 after a career as a Spanish teacher in Malden Public Schools, which began in 2007. According to the Malden Public Schools website, Sepulveda is stepping down for personal reasons. "It has been a privilege to serve the Ferryway School community as principal over the past four years," said Sepulveda in a prepared statement. "In that time, I have gotten to know so many of our families, students, staff and community members. Stepping down has been a difficult decision for me. I will always be grateful for the time I have spent here and take great pride in everything we have accomplished together." Assistant Michael Ciampa will be the acting principal for the remainder of the school year. The school district will immediately begin the search for the next Ferryway School principal.
