Description
LOWELL, MA — A man's body was found in the Northern Canal Wednesday, prompting the Middlesex District Attorney's Office and Lowell Police to launch an investigation into how he got there.
Around 1 p.m. a passerby saw the body in the Northern Canal in the area of 145 Pawtucket St and called police. Police and fire worked together to help remove the body.
"The body appears to have been in the water for an extended period of time," according to the Middlesex District Attorney's office.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is working to identify the body. No other information was released.
