Description

From the City of Dunedin: April 21, 2021 SPACEcraft is a socially-engaged, traveling art project in Pinellas County designed to build a sense of community by encouraging people of all ages to interact and create together. Repurposing locally sourced shipping containers in an open-air environment, SPACEcraft lands in different Pinellas host communities, including Dunedin, to present creative programs inspired by the themes of Make, Play, Read, and Grow. Twice each week, the Make/Play SPACEcraft at Highlander Park in Dunedin will present participant driven programming such as art workshops and crafting, musical performance and drum circles, building blocks and educational toys, board games, art exhibitions, an interactive chalkboard mural and more. Always-accessible interactive activities include colorful magnetic shapes and a giant, playable Lego block wall. The Make/Play SPACEcraft is open to explore on Thursdays and Saturdays, 5-7:00 pm from May 1-June 12 in Dunedin. It is located in Highlander Park (903 Michigan Blvd), between the Fire Station and Community Center. SPACEcraft is produced with the support of Creative Pinellas and is funded by the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners. This public art project is an original work conceived and produced by Carrie Boucher, Bridget Elmer, and Mitzi Gordon.
