SILVER SPRING, MD — Capital Bikeshare is bringing back its free ride promotion to encourage Montgomery County residents to enjoy the fresh air on Earth Day. The bike-share service, owned by Lyft, will allow riders to take a free single trip under 30 minutes on Thursday, April 22. Normally, a single trip under 30 minutes costs $2, and a 24-hour day pass costs $8. To redeem the offer, download the Capital Bikeshare app. It will be automatically applied to your account when you pick up a bike at any Capital Bikeshare station and return it to any station. Payment information is required in case a trip ends up being more than 30 minutes. There are 84 docking stations throughout Montgomery County, with 4,500 bikes available to use.
