Description
SEATTLE — A fire swept through a large storage unit and prompted a significant emergency response Wednesday afternoon, and a smoke plume was visible in much of North Seattle. The first Seattle Fire crews arrived at Aurora Avenue North and North 109th Street, just south of the Evergreen Washelli Cemetery, shortly before 12:45 p.m. Within a few minutes, firefighters called in a two-alarm response.
Fire crews attacked the blaze from three ladder hoses, as hand crews worked from the ground. Seattle Fire said no one was inside the structure as it burned. Fire investigators learned the large metal structure housed several older vehicles, but exactly what caused the fire is yet to be determined.
