We supply contractors and homeowners with everything needed for residential and commercial remodeling, rebuilding, and renovation such as lumber, tools and hardware, doors, windows, paint, faucets, sinks, and toilets. We are currently hiring a Receiving & Loading Yard Person for our Concord location. The receiving and loading yard person will manage the unloading and loading of vendors vehicles/ trucks. They are responsible for matching material shipped by the vendor to the vendors paper work for accuracy and marking the paper work properly for the materials shipped and note any discrepancies between the materials shipped and the vendors paper work. This position will work closely with dispatch to ensure all materials ordered by the customer are on the load to be delivered, note any discrepancies and bring it to the dispatcher’s attention. WHAT YOU'LL DO SAFETY - Maintain an organized, orderly, and safe facility. - Immediately inform supervisor of any health or safety concerns. - Safely operate forklift and successfully complete certification on them. SKILLS - Possess exceptional interpersonal communication skills - Possession of strong organizational skills - Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and accept direction on given assignments - Able to work in a cooperative manner as part of a team - Maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public - Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence to relevant health/safety and company policies and procedures. - Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) - 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Stand for up to 8 hours per day - Vision abilities required by this job include close vision - The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud - Exposure to moving mechanical parts and vehicles - Occasionally must reach with arms and hands, climb or balance. - Must be able to lift/carry up to 20 lbs. occasionally; must be able to push/pull 20 lbs. - All nobility motions are required occasionally (standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, squatting, and climbing) - Range of motion and physical activity occurring throughout work day To show appreciation for the work our employees do ASHBY LUMBER offers excellent company benefits. 1.
