FLEMINGTON, NJ — A Pennsylvania man was charged after Flemington Police say they found meth in his car earlier this month. An officer first approached Kenneth Beers of Long Pond, PA, while on patrol for distracted drivers and pulled him over at a Wallgreens parking lot. Beers was driving a green SUV and had a cell phone in his hand, authorities said. He said he was using it for GPS, according to police. Beers was found to be under the influence of drugs after the officer called for the help of a Drug Recognition Expert, who performed field sobriety tests. A police dog signaled that there were drugs inside the car, and Beers admitted to it, police said. During a search of the car, police said they found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Beers was charged with possession of controlled dangerous substances and possession of drug paraphernalia, and issued motor vehicle citations for driving under the influence and operating a motor vehicle while using a cell phone. He was later released to a family member, police said.
