PLEASANTON, CA — The Pleasanton Police Department has launched a digital, interactive map that allows residents to view arrests, crashes and other incidents in real-time.
The map is hosted on the Citizen Connect website and is updated with new incidents as soon as a call for service is closed, the police department announced. Users can search by date and type of crime.
"The Pleasanton Police Department is always looking at emerging technologies that enhance thetransparency of our department," said Captain Kurt Schlehuber in a statement. "It is important for us to share the workwe are doing to keep our community safe."
The Citizen Connect tool replaces the mapping tool police used for the past decade, according to the department.
