Press release from the Francis Howell School District:
04/22/2021
Dr. Erin Steep, assistant principal at Francis Howell North High School, was recently named the St. Louis Assistant Principal of the Year by the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals (MOASSP).. Steep has served hundreds of students in the FHN community since 2013. "Erin has been a valuable member of our team for a long time," said FHN principal Dr. Nathan Hostetler. "This year in particular, she has really stepped up and taken care of contact tracing, our virtual students, as well as the in-person students she supports. She is absolutely incredible at everything she takes on." Steep has embraced the title of assistant principal as she continually supports the academic and behavioral needs of students. However, some students refer to her as "mom". Steep has become a mother figure to many students as she supports their social-emotional needs. "I think my favorite part about being assistant principal is getting to have conversations with students every day," shared Steep. "A lot of times they are on hard topics and negative things that have happened in their lives, but being a part of trying to help them navigate that is really meaningful." Steep's caring attitude and hard work make her incredibly deserving of the Assistant Principal of the Year Award, but also FHN's unofficial award for Mom of the Year, as well. Congratulations, Erin!
