PITTSBURGH, PA — Award-winning actor Michael Keaton is partnering to bring a sustainability plant to the region that could bring hundreds of jobs to the region. The new plant will be developed by Trinity Sustainable Solutions, a new entity composed of Keaton, Nexii, and Craig Rippole of Trinity Commercial Development, will be only the second one in the United States for Nexii, an expanding green construction technology company. The plant's specific location has yet to be determined. "Growing up, many of my neighbors worked in Pittsburgh's famous steel plants; the lore was that a businessman would take an extra white shirt to work because the one he started with would get so dirty from the mills' polluted air that he'd have to put on a fresh one to come home," Keaton, who was born and raised in the Pittsburgh area and first began acting in local theater here, said in a news release. "Nexii's new plant will create more than 300 green, healthy job opportunities and help revitalize my hometown in a way that helps folks right now while paving the way for future generations." Keaton's acting career will not be put on hold by the new business venture. The actor recently announced that he will reprise his famous Batman role in the upcoming movie "The Flash." Mark Anthony Thomas, head of the Pittsburgh Regional Alliance, applauded the Nexii announcement. "Manufacturing is changing, and Pittsburgh – embracing both its past and future in manufacturing – is a place where top companies, like Nexii, are taking notice of how Pittsburgh is advancing that transformation, and they're investing to be a part of it," he said. "Companies that are excited about creating products that define the future need to be in the region.Whatever you want to do, you can do it in Pittsburgh. We welcome innovative companies of all kinds and are ready to support them and be a partner in achieving success."
