UPenn Requiring Coronavirus Vaccination For All Students

PHILADELPHIA — The University of Pennsylvania Thursday said all students must be vaccinated against the coronavirus for the fall semester. In an announcement Thursday, the school said all students must be vaccinated for the fall semester. Students should plan on being fully vaccinated (i.e., two weeks after the last dose of the vaccine) before they return to campus for the fall semester. Those who have not been vaccinated by the time they come back to Penn's campus can be vaccinated at university clinics. However, students will need to quarantine for two weeks after receiving their first dose. The decision to require students be inoculated comes as coronavirus vaccine administration increases drastically in Philadelphia and elsewhere. While the university is requiring vaccinations, some exemptions are in place. Exceptions will only be provided for medical or religious reasons. The university will give additional for international students who received vaccines not currently approved in the United States at a later date. And not only will the coronavirus vaccine be required for students, flu vaccines will be mandatory later in the fall. Student immunization requirements are online here.
