Description

Pepper is a female, mixed breed originally from a New Mexico shelter. She's a perfect size at 29 pounds. She playfully prances around as she entertains herself with squeaky toys. Pepper has a great personality and good puppy energy, even though she's 2.5 or 3 yrs old and had puppies of her own about 8 months ago. She can wiggle and maneuver into small spaces. She has updated shots, and she is a polite and willing patient at the vet and around others. She loves a belly rub and rough-housing. She eagerly awaits an invitation to jump around or play. Pepper has been through basic training at the Humane Society, including a "Grumpy Growlers" course to work on reactivity with other dogs. She has found a few male play-date dog friends and she seems to play tirelessly with them. She doesn't instantly know how to respond to other dogs though, so she wimpers, barks, and bears her teeth to other dogs all while wagging her tail, expressing nervousness about how the interaction will go. Walking on a leash by other dogs can be stressful, and if she were to get away, she would likely take off to find a nearby dog. She could do great around another dog, or it might be a bad fit. She is very people friendly and seems to love everyone! She is house-trained, knows basic commands, and doesn't shed very much. She would do great with a yard where she can run around and she can jump surprisingly high. Pepper is currently in Boulder, and looking to be re-homed to a good home soon.
