Over the road truck driver looking for dog companion

I am in over the road truck driver with a dedicated route between Los Angeles and Chicago. Though I am home every week, it gets lonely out on the road. I am looking to take on a companion to accompany me on my travels. I am not a big fan of small dogs, but a large dog would not work due to the size of my truck. A medium sized dog with a moderate amount of energy and all of his / her shots would be perfect. I am a dog lover and most of my life I have owned dogs. I would take very good care of my dog.
