Currently hiring for a full-time ride operator at San Diego Zoo and Safari Park. Duties include operating the balloon, coordinating of passenger boarding, mooring the balloon, routine maintenance, and monitoring the balloon during inclement weather. The applicant must be a responsible, disciplined, quick learner, and a team player. Good communication skills, judgment, problem-solving, customer service experience, common sense, and a strong work ethic are extremely important. Additional experience with mechanical aptitude, and any weather experience would be beneficial. The position is outdoors, requires working in all types of weather year round, and is physical. The current work schedule will be explained in more detail during the interview. Due to the nature of the job, it is important that you live relatively close to the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park.
