Black Birch Vineyard is a well-established winery located in the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts. We have been in operation since 2010, and producing mostly European varietals on our 12 acre vineyard with another 5 acres to be planted this Spring. Black Birch Vineyard has been committed to growing the highest quality grapes since its inception. We are looking for motivated individuals to join our vineyard team for the 2021 growing season and upcoming harvest. Qualified candidates will be willing to work 40+ hours per week, arrive on time, are reliable, have a high attention to detail, and can follow instructions. Previous farming and tractor experience is a plus but not a requirement. Job duties include but are not limited to: Pruning Training vines Tying vines Weeding Cultivation Grounds maintenance Packaging Harvesting Farm Maintenance Qualifications: • Applicants must be physically able to walk vineyard rows (frequently on uneven terrain) • Applicants must be willing and capable to work outdoors for many hours at a time in variable weather conditions (hot or cold) and be prepared to handle the basic elements of nature (e.g. insects, dirt and dust, etc.). • Required to stand for most of the day • Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. • Regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
