Irrigation Technician

Reports To: Irrigation Manager
Job Type: Full time, Non-exempt
Role (Overview of the Position)
Responsible for irrigation system reviews, repairs and installations. Ensure proper functionality, coverage and spraying of sprinkler heads in order to provide turf, plants, and vegetation with ample water to live. Use valve locator to locate valves and possible wire breaks or niks. Reprogram, replace and rewire timers and valves. Replace sprinklers, backflows, pumps, relays, and other various components. Submit documentation of all work completed, as well as, create estimates and proposals for additionally needed work efforts and upsell. Provide emergency response and repair when needed. Drive van and trailer combo.
Responsibilities (Tasks Associated with the Role)
Perform irrigation reviews of system and repair after approval of budget
Install irrigation zones or entire irrigation systems, per county code
Locate breaks and/or failures in system and repair/replace components
Drive van to and from job-sites and maintain van and equipment in safe and operable condition
Results (Expected Accomplishments)
Complete irrigation work that drives revenue for the department and company
Thorough work that results in 100% operable irrigation systems
Healthy turf, plants, and vegetation that receive amble water to live
Safe operation of van and equipment
Requirements (Expected Proficiencies)
High school diploma or equivalency
2+ years experience with irrigation repair and system maintenance
Driver’s license and ability to maneuver a trailer
Ability to use power tools, valve locator, and trencher
