Under the direction of the Landscape Lead, Tribal Government Operation, the Landscaper, Tribal Government Operations (TGO) will be responsible for general facility and grounds maintenance on the Tribal Reservation as well as other San Manuel Band of Mission Indian properties. While working as a part of a closely-knit team, the primary duty of the Landscaper, TGO will be to perform a variety of semiskilled and skilled work in the maintenance of San Manuel grounds, equipment, buildings, and facilities; and to do related work as assigned to maintain the efficient operation and upkeep of San Manuel properties. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Performs weed abatement; controls fertilization of trees, lawns, flowers, shrubs and hedges. Detects, identifies and recommends treatment of plant problems. Cleans and maintains roads and parking lots. Performs minor road maintenance including fire breaks and the installation of street signs. Cleans out water drains as needed. Operates tractors and other riding equipment; assists in the training of operating equipment. Performs erosion control mitigation including jute netting, wattles, and sandbags. Cleans and removes debris and waste from the Tribal Reservation and other San Manuel properties. Performs landscaping maintenance as needed. Performs irrigation repair such as replacement or cleaning of heads or irrigation lines. Inspects and ensures that all equipment is in safe operating condition. Maintains an accurate inventory of all tools. Performs duties throughout the San Manuel Properties such as landscaping, housekeeping, and maintenance on an as needed basis at the direction of the Landscape Supervisor. Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department. Education/Experience/Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Knowledge of and ability to use hand and power tools and equipment, and the ability to operate trucks and light motorized equipment. A pleasant attitude and customer service skills. Must be able to read, write and communicate in the English language. Certificates/Licenses/Registrations At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license. A qualified candidate/employee must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the company’s insurance carrier. Must be able to undergo and successfully pass pre-employment drug screening, criminal background investigation, and credit check.
