An immersive hiking experience for Christian women, presented by Ruah + Ember Ministry and Christian Health + Mindset Coach, Andrea Anderson Not “just a hike,” Root is designed to be an immersive experience that uses the terrain and aspects of creation to draw you deeper into appreciating your body as a gift and your connection with God, along with sharing in the fellowship of other women. The goal of this series is to have you walk away (no pun intended ;) ) from this experience feeling renewed and refreshed in your body, mind and spirit. *these hikes are for women only - sorry, guys!* Brief overview of this hike... The theme of the August 21 hike is River Crosser and starts at the Chippewa Creek Gorge Overlook in the Cleveland Metroparks in Brecksville. This hike has a number of moderate up and down sections and uneven terrain. More details about this hike and the series... Each hike in the series is around the three-mile mark, with stops planned along the way to engage with the Lord through teachings, journal prompts, questions and guided Biblical meditations. As part of the experience you also will be given a “goody” bag that includes a hearty, nourishing snack, mini journal and an extra surprise or two. Hikes will take approximately 2-2.5 hours to complete, which includes the rest + reflect spots, and happen rain or shine apart from heavy thundershowers or threats of lightening. Before each hike, you will receive an email that includes detailed instructions and suggestions for what to pack. You are responsible for assessing your own physical condition and ability to navigate uneven ground. You also will be asked to sign a waiver the day of the hike indicating that you have not come into contact with anyone who has tested positive with Covid within 14 days of the hike. You may sign up for a single hike or as many as you like. If you choose to do all five (and we hope you do!), you will receive a special gift as well as a discounted price.
