MADE Design/Build specializes in custom architectural design, construction management and specialty fabrication. Located in a Civil War-era warehouse on the historic piers of Red Hook, Brooklyn, MADE’s facilities include a design studio and fabrication workshop. The position of the MADE driver is a job site and shop support position. By understanding the needs of the MADE project site and with the guidance of the Director of Construction, the MADE driver will help ensure the efficient procurement and delivery of site goods and materials to MADE projects. The Driver will assist in mobilization and demobilization of each project site as requested by the project staff and Director Of Construction. By communicating regularly and effectively with site staff, the driver must be able to anticipate the site needs at each phase of the project. The Driver will also assist in the delivery of MADE fabrication items, and assist in the maintenance of MADE project sites and the MADE shop and office as needed. The Driver will be responsible for receiving and organizing all deliveries at the MADE shop and office. The MADE driver will be responsible for upkeep of the MADE van, tracking the van log and scheduling annual maintenance and inspections. The MADE driver will also ensure that the vehicle is always organized, clean and presentable. Qualifications: -Current New York Driver’s License -Clean driving record -5 years of experience driving in New York City and the surrounding boroughs -Commercial driving experience in a cargo van or similar vehicle -Experience with furniture moving, crating or shipping is preferred -Experience handling and procuring construction materials -Experience using hand tools and small power tools -Experience in moving cabinetry and furniture is essential -Experience using email, Google Calendar, Google Docs and Google Sheets. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills Administrative Responsibilities: -Document van mileage and maintain the MADE van log -Submit weekly receipts for all project purchases and van maintenance requirements -Submit weekly timesheet -Working with the Director of Construction and Project Managers, maintain the van schedule -Assist in the maintenance of MADE’s fabrication shop -Oversee maintenance duties of MADE’s van -Receive and organize deliveries to MADE shop and office Project Responsibilities: -Assist in the mobilization and demobilization of MADE projects -Provide procurement and delivery of tools, materials, and project goods as necessary -Assist in delivery of MADE Fabrication items and materials -Assist in the maintenance of MADE project sites and the MADE shop as required
