Enjoy a small group guided tour of the Phoenix Mill House and discover 220 years of local history!
The Phoenix Mill House has seen 220 years of history from its early days as a millworker’s home through the 20th century when it served as a the Red Cross headquarters during the world wars and later as an artist’s studio. On this small group tour led by the center’s director, Michelle Stahl, guests will learn about the home life of Phoenix Mill overseer Samuel Prescott and his family in the 1830s. The tour will include discussions about the house’s construction and layout, the furnishings, and the home’s history after the Phoenix Mill closed.
The tour has been designed as a small group discussion, giving participants the chance to ask questions, to share knowledge, and to see the furnishings and artifacts up close.
