Description

The Waltham Land Trust, our community's primary environmental non-profit group, invites residents to participate in various Earth Day activities. Because of COVID-19, the WLT will host several small cleanup events spread out over two parkways in Waltham on two different days. The first two cleanups will happen along the Charles River on Thursday, April 22, which is Earth Day. The second cleanups will take place on Saturday, April 24, along the soon-to-be Mass Central Rail Trail, which runs east to west roughly one block north of Main Street/route 117. Trash bags, gloves, and masks provided. Find details and sign up today. If picking up litter doesn't sound appealing, one can celebrate Earth Day and help the WLT care for the environment by eating at or getting take-out on Thursday, April 22, from Jake n JOES at 1265 Main Street. Twenty percent of all food and drink sales associated with the WLT will be donated back to them. Follow these instructions to ensure your order is credited to WLT. The WLT wishes to thank the City of Waltham, the MA Department of Conservation & Recreation, American Rivers, NEEF, Toyota Motor North America, IP, the Hilton Effect Foundation, and the Chateau/Nocera family of restaurants for supporting these events.
