Sharon Police Respond To Discovery Of World War II Grenade

SHARON, MA — Sharon Police and Fire Departments responded to an item found in a yard that resembled a grenade, said the police department in a Twitter post Tuesday. Police say the scene was secured and several nearby homes were evacuated as a result of the discovery. The Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad later found that the item was an inert World War II grenade. Police say the object was harmless and the area is safe.
