MU Extension will be presenting an 8 week evidence-based, healthy eating and active living curriculum called Eating Smart • Being Active.
The Salvation Army and Mission 180 are hosting a Bible study each Friday from 9:00- 10:00. Following bible study, a different speaker from the community will be covering a variety of different topics. Each speaker will provide basic information on services and opportunities that they can provide as well teaching valuable life skills.

University of Missouri Extention-8 week Eating Smart • Being Active Series
Eating Smart • Being Active Series is an evidence-based, healthy eating and active living curriculum originally written in 2005, updated in 2010, and thoroughly revised in 2017. Curriculum content is based on the latest research findings from the 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans and MyPlate. Each lesson buildings on previous lesson content. Activities include dialogue-based learning and hands-on activities. Lesson content includes physical activity, nutrition, healthy lifestyle choices, food preparation (cooking skill development), food safety, and food resource management.
This series begins May 7th and will be held every Friday except June 4th. The last date for this series of classes will end on July 23rd.

At the end of the series, individuals will be provided some basic kitchen items.
