Next Stage Design + Build is an established, nationally recognized, award winning remodeling company seeking an assistant carpenter to join our winning team in the South Bay Area. We’re an award winning Company that provides home repair and remodeling services to clients in Santa Clara County. We need an additional talented teammate to meet the demand for our services. We’re looking for an energetic player in this position who can effectively assist on projects and is open to opportunity to grow within the company. This is a great starting point for someone interested in becoming a carpenter. Working directly for the project managers, you’ll assist our carpenters on multiple jobs involving, kitchen, bath, and general remodeling, along with maintenance, and repair work in residential homes. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist Project Managers and Carpenters to include the following: Assists home remodeling specialist/lead carpenters to complete projects by performing various remodeling duties under close supervision including: Job Site set up Dust Protection Demolition Some basic carpentry Job site Clean up Assist with job site punch list Move and stock jobsite material Assist and follow general directions of onsite lead and or the Project manager Operates independently to complete the following tasks and duties: Picks up and delivers project materials as needed Visits projects at the direction of the Project Manager to perform job visits and reports Ensure job signs are in place at identified jobs as needed Contacts the PM to communicate job status. Develops and maintains ability to use Builder Trend for tasks and scheduling Assumes additional remodeling and construction responsibilities as skills and experience grow Note: Job requires ability to perform tasks on all areas and aspects of construction project. Able to crawl and work in attic and sub area crawl spaces. Ability to lift and carry up to 55 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs. Job requires ability to work with tools, lumber and materials. The employee is required to crawl, bend and stoop, and frequently required to drive up to 50 miles radius from office to client’s homes and company facility. APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS: Ability to use and operate all basic carpentry hand tools, lift, carry loads. HS diploma or GED degree 1-2 years construction with previous experience including as a laborer, helper, and assistant. Must have the certification or ability to earn OSHA 10 certification 2-4 years of experience in residential remodeling or related position. Excellent customer communication Ability to use smart phone and tablet. You must understand and speak English Must reside in Santa Clara County or proximity Ability to work independently and as part of team You must have a valid California driver’s license with no restrictions or major violations You must be able to pass a security clearance and substance screening We offer competitive pay depending on your skills and experience.
