LAKEWOOD, NJ — A Lakewood man was arrested and 165 grams of cocaine seized following a two-month investigation into cocaine distribution in Ocean County, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said Wednesday. Ranyer Meyreles-Alvarado, 29, was arrested Saturday, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said, and authorities searched two Lakewood homes they say he was using to store and distribute cocaine. They seized 165 grams of cocaine and more than $6,000 in cash, the prosecutor's office said. Meyreles-Alvarado was charged with possession of more than 5 ounces of cocaine with intent to distribute; possession of cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia, the prosecutor's office said. Meyreles-Alvarado was processed at Lakewood Township Police Headquarters and taken to the Ocean County Jail, but was released from the jail on Monday under bail reform rules. Billhimer praised the work of the prosecutor's office's Narcotics Strike Force and Asset Forfeiture Unit, the Lakewood Township Police Department Street Crimes Unit, Lakewood Township Police Department Special Response Team, Ocean County Regional SWAT Team, and Ocean County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit in the investigation.
