Join us at the library as we discuss the newly published book "Shaking the Gates of Hell" by Pulitzer Prize winning author, John Archibald.
Join us at the Florence-Lauderdale Public Library Thursday, May 6 at 5:30pm as we discuss "Shaking the Gates of Hell: A Search for Family and Truth in the Wake of the Civil Rights Revolution", the newly published book by Pulitzer Prize winning journalist, John Archibald.
The book discussion is to be led by Dr. Andrea Hunt, Founding Director of the Mitchell-West Center for Social Inclusion at the University of North Alabama.
The Washington Post writes of the book: “A fascinating blend of family memoir and moral reckoning . . . Archibald’s honest account of one family’s uneasy journey through the civil rights and gay rights revolutions makes it clear that there are no easy decisions—or answers—when grappling with issues of faith and social justice.”
