By Jon DePaolis, the Richard Free Press: ORLAND PARK, Ill. – The Village of Orland Park is offering an opportunity through May 1 for residents to add a veteran's name to the Village's Memorial Wall. The memorial, located at the Ara Pace outside of Village Hall (14700 S. Ravinia Ave.), is the site of the Village's annual Memorial Day observance ceremony. The names are engraved on the granite walls of the memorial, and the new names that are added are announced during the Memorial Day observance. The cost to add a name is $250, and those who purchase an engraving are also eligible for a reduced fee for a Hometown Hero banner ($100 per banner). The wall honors all veterans, including those who do not live in Orland Park. The form for adding a veteran's name to the wall can be found at www.orlandpark.org.
