JOLIET, IL — An eight-month Joliet police investigation into the hit-and-run death of 55-year-old Lockport motorcycle rider Henry Young along Interstate 80 has resulted in felony charges for a Justice man who remains at large. The Will County State's Attorney's Office of Jim Glasgow has charged 37-year-old Joseph Ordakowski with failure to report an accident involving personal injury or death. Ordakowski is also being charged in Will County with failure to stop after having an accident involving a personal injury or death. The third charge is driving while license revoked. The criminal complaint was submitted by Joliet police officer Bob Mau Jr. Late last week, Will County Judge Fred Harvey issued a warrant for Ordakowski's arrest and set bail at $200,000. A week later, Ordakowski has not been taken into Joliet police custody, and there are no photos of him on the Will County Warrants website. The warrant for his arrest indicates Ordakowski lives in the 1100 block of Willow Lane, that he is 6-foot-1 and weighs 300 lbs. He has brown hair and blue eyes. According the Will County Crimestoppers website, the fatal hit-and-run crash happened around 10:15 p.m. Aug. 16, 2020 at Chicago Street and I-80. Early in the investigation, Joliet police announced they were looking for a white 2000 to 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe or GMC Yukon with damage to the middle of its passenger side door. "This vehicle turned in front of a motorcycle driven by Henry Young and fled the scene eastbound on I-80 from Chicago St," authorities announced at the time.
