Montco Resource Fairs Will Help Those With Marijuana Convictions

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — A pair of upcoming resource fairs in Montgomery County aim to assist those who have been convicted of non-violent marijuana-related offenses to move forward with their lives. The outdoor events, organized by the Montgomery County Public Defender's Office, will be held on April 24 in Norristown and on May 8 in Pottstown. Specifically, the fairs will provide resources to help navigate the new expedited pardon program introduced in the state. "Through a fast-track review process offered by the Pennsylvania Board of Pardons, people who have suffered job insecurity as a result of the pandemic can get expedited assistance to improve their quality of life," organizers said. "These events will educate the public about this program and provide guidance on how to successfully apply for a pardon." Dozens of other organizations from throughout the area will join the Public Defender's office at the event, providing additional information and resources.
