Press release from Dayton Public Schools: April 21, 2021 Computers and Hot Spots: L2ED secured funding for computers and hot spots for DPS students from a variety of regional funders during 2020 as part of the effort to address the digital divide issue confronting Dayton students. Funders: Regional philanthropic organizations Pay-for-Success: L2ED secured funds to assist with the school transformation work occurring through the pay-for-success work at six DPS schools. Funder: Blue Meridian Partners Neighborhood Schools: L2ED secured funds to assist with connecting after school programming with school based instruction at the six identified Neighborhood Schools in Dayton. Funder: Chan Zuckerberg FAFSA completion: L2ED worked with the six DPS high schools to increase FAFSA completion rates for DPS students. Funder: Ohio Mayors Alliance and L2ED Dunbar High School: L2ED worked with DPS to rethink the programming at Dunbar High School with a focus on turning the existing school into a fully functioning early college. Funder: L2ED Teach for Montgomery County: L2ED is leading an effort to attract and retain more teachers of color for DPS and other school districts serving higher percentages of underrepresented students. Funder: L2ED 21st Century Grants: L2ED assisted with writing and submitting 21st Century grants for selected DPS schools. Funder: L2ED and 21st Century Equity Fellows and ELI : L2ED worked to train cohorts of DPS teachers and administrators in how to create more culturally responsive school and classroom environments.
