TUCSON, AZ — FC Tucson is launching a mobile block party at various spots in the Old Pueblo over the course of the next month.
The USL League One side announced this week that it will hold a quartet of events, called "Barrio 2 Barrio," which feature family-friendly games, artistic activities, player appearances, food trucks, music and more, the team said.
The first event will be held from noon-2 p.m. at Menlo Park's Mercado San Augustin Annex, with three others, on May 1 (Rillito Park), May 15 (Desert View High School) and May 29 (Cafe Santa Rosa).
"After a year of no fans in stands, it's time to come together, build camaraderie, and forge a new community through the beautiful game," said Amanda Powers, President of FC Tucson.
Barrio 2 Barrio is our chance to celebrate Tucson and connect with them in a way that was impossible only a year ago," continued Powers. "From stands to streets, we get to cheer in person and see faces again. It's so exciting."
