Description

PHOENIX, AZ — Phoenix Union High School District will not follow Gov. Doug Ducey's executive order ending the state's mask mandate for Arizona's schools. The district said in a tweet on Monday night that it will exercise its right to enforce its own policies and keep the mandate in place going forward. The largest high school district in the state, PUHSD has 22 schools across the city. It has been joined by the likes of Scottsdale Unified School District, Mesa Public Schools, Peoria Unified School District and more in doing so. Earlier today, Governor Ducey rescinded orders that direct schools to require masks. However, districts still have the right to enforce masks and other mitigation policies in their schools. PXU's mask policy will remain in effect for all students, staff, & visitors.
