Press release from the Atlanta Police Department: 04/21/2021 Update:  James Williams, age 20. Charged with Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer, Fleeing and Eluding, Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Distribute, and traffic violations.  Josiah Harwell, age 19. Charged with Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Distribute, Possession of Narcotics Outside Original Container.  Both arrestees have charges in Missouri in addition to local charges. Both arrestees are in the Fulton County Jail.   Preliminary information: On April 20, 2021, at approximately 6:06 pm, APD was provided information regarding a vehicle that had been carjacked out of state. At this time the vehicle was parked at 3393 Peachtree Rd. When officers attempted to approach the vehicle the suspects fled the scene. Officers then notified GSP who located the vehicle at 75north near the Chattahoochee River. Two suspects fled on foot and were later apprehended, no injuries were reported. Investigators were notified and are working to determine the circumstances surrounding this incident.   Charges are still pending, no suspect information has been released at this time.    This was a carjacking that occurred out of state.
