Arbor Acres Retirement Community
Position Description
Responsible for floor care activities and grounds maintenance throughout the campus of Arbor Acres not covered by grounds contractors, including trash pick up, cleaning of walkways, driveways, and occasionally, snow removal. Assists with miscellaneous housekeeping.
Typical Physical Demands
1. Must correctly use personal protective equipment due to the use of potentially hazardous chemical and the operation of machinery.
2. Ability to lift 30 lbs.
3. Ability to walk extensively, to squat, bend, kneel, climb to reach 8 ft. ceilings, and reach above shoulders.
4. Needs sense of sight, hearing, smell and touch.
Key Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1 Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, holidays, weekends, and extended hours as business dictates to meet the needs of a 24-hour facility.
2. Work habits must include: regular attendance, punctuality, teamwork, willingness to learn, initiative, dependability, and promptness.
3. Ability to communicate with residents, family members, and other staff.
4. Ability to pay attention to detail and utilize equipment properly.
5. Must be able to thoroughly read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
6. Ability to embody and uphold the corporate personality and culture of Arbor Acres with its emphasis on warmth, caring, generation of community, enthusiasm, achievement of excellence, and joy.
Minimum Education/Experience
1. High School or equivalent.
2. Must have a valid North Carolina Driver's License
