Basic Responsibilities
Assists in the planning, implementation and maintenance of the District’s Accident Prevention Program. Acts as a liaison (with the delegated authority of the Sr. Mgr., Safety and Line Training), with Federal, State and professional/technical/regulatory agencies and the public for the promotion of employee and public safety. Provides guidance on safety issues to Assistant Safety Specialists and District staff.
Minimum Qualifications
• Two (2) years progressively more responsible experience providing safety-related training, inspection and program development in a safety professional position.
Preferred Qualifications
• Four year college degree in business, engineering or science.
• Certified Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation.
• Certified Instructor in Basic First Aid/CPR/AED’s.
• Emergency Response to Hazardous Substance Training
• Defensive Driving Certificate/Instructor
• Certified Safety Professional or Certified Utility Safety Professional
