We've got a daunting task ahead. I am looking to help build a special band. "Well, dude, what are you looking for", you ask? I am not entirely sure. I think the key is the right PEOPLE. If we find THAT....we probably have a good band. My main instrument is guitar, and I dabble in other stuff. I have many influences; Rush, BOC, Rippingtons, Spryo Gyra, Helloween (older!), Dave Weckl, Michael Schenker, Tim Pierce, Umphrey's McGee...just to give you an idea. I don't play as good as all of them, but they have influenced my playing and music outlook. I like using different guitars, acoustics, amps and effects that give a song personality. I also have recording and PA gear. So my idea is to gather like-minded people, not just musical, but life in general. Easy-going, yet wanting to make great music..a mix of tight AND loose....if you know what I mean. A place where we work hard, and then also able to relax and explore. Freedom. Some people might call this a "jam band"..in some ways it might be. But I also like trademark hooks and sounds...so people know "it" when they hear "it". Need: Singer, bass, drums, optional: guitar/keyboard that works well with other guitar. All contribute to songs, style, image, etc. These are difficult times to start a band, and not just because of covid. Starting this from scratch by emails/phone...well...not easy, right? And Lottsa people can put a cover band together, for fun and a couple bucks...and there's nothing wrong with that...but I'm looking for something a bit more. NOT EASY! But rewarding if you can make it happen. Also, if YOU already have a band or something in mind that you think I *might* be a good fit for....I am open to that too. I don't have a grand vision just yet. This is just a seed....and may take some time and effort...and patience. It depends on you, and what you have and want. Let me know what you think. Also open to adept advice on putting this together, even if it doesn't suit you.
